Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Our numbers for VBS were down this year than in the past, but the kids that we had in attendance really seemed to enjoy themselves.  A lot of times we focus so much on numbers.  Numbers are very important but not the most important.  The most important thing about a ministry such as VBS is the quality of the output of the volunteers.  Durings crafts, recreation, and music time the kids needs to see Jesus in the volunteers.  That is in the content and in the actions of the volunteer.  The kids need to know that we love them, and they are dealing with people that are walking closely to the Father.  We could have a1000 kids at VBS, and if Jesus is not involved, it is all in vain.  I urge you to focus on why we do the things that we do and be proud of the turnout we had.  Everyone did a fantastic job, and I am ready to do it again.  God Bless.

Easter Service 2011

Wow!  What a weekend!  Yesterday's services were awesome.  We had about 95 during worship.  We had two groups of kids perform special songs.  Good job, Kris and Zoe, for getting your groups ready.  Also, Nathan and Sherri sang a song that was such a blessing.  Trent did a great job, as usual, on Because He Lives.  It was such a great celebration of the resurrection of our Savior.  Thank you to everyone who took part in any way to make the services a success.  God bless  you.  Through your hard work, God will bless our church.

Well, there is excitement in the air at Folsom.  A new Sunday school class has been started the past few weeks.  Also, Sherri's Sunday School class sponsored Folsom Family Outreach Retreat this past Friday and Saturday.  It was a great success.  Sherri is already looking for a time to schedule it again.  We have been running in the 70's on Sunday mornings which is a dramatic increase from the 40's just a few months ago.  I love my church family and am very encouraged by the spirit felt when I am around them.  I know God is going to richly bless us as we continue on into the future trying to reach a lost and dying world.  If you are out there and do not have a church home, please feel free to come visit us.  I know you will fall in love with our family, and hopefully find a home.  May God bless you all.

Great things are coming to Folsom!  Such a great service last night.  I really like the way everyone is pitching-in and volunteering for different things.  Zoe gave our devotion last night.  She spoke about how to be a superhero.  One of her ways to be a superhero was to be kind to the elderly.  I notice, being a teacher, that this is something that kids today, as a whole, really struggle with.  This world teaches us to focus on ourselves instead of others.  We can be such a blessing just by extending a helping hand to someone.  Even churches struggle with this.  Let's not forget about our older folks at Folsom.  These individuals are just as much a part of our chuch now as they ever were.  In the past, they may have been more active in areas of ministry, but now, they possess a lot of wisdom that is vital to the church moving into the future.  They have already "done it."  They have gone through the good times and the bad times.  God bless these folks, and God bless Zoe for reminding us of this.  Let's think of some way to give back to the elderly some of what they have given us.

God Bless

We had a good crowd at service Sunday morning.  Seventy were in attendance.  I preached about heaven.  Isn't that what it all boils down to, heaven and Jesus?  It was a great service.  However, some of our Folsom family right now are dealing with the passing of loved ones.  David Stanley and Ellen Sampson lost their brother, Jerry.  Susan White lost her mother.  Please pray for these families as they mourn.  On a brighter note, we started a new Sunday school class Sunday.  This class is designed to minister to married couples in their twenties and early thirties.  Sherri Brown has volunteered to take on the responsibilities of leading this class for a while.  Please pray that God will use her in a mighty way as she ministers to these young adults.  God Bless.
