I have had a pretty stressful week.  I have been around long enough to know that everytime things start going great in the church, satan is always lurking in the shadows trying to place problems in the mix.  Everytime!  That being said.  I am never ready when it happens.  I know that the God I serve will override the devil everytime.  He already has!  I have felt great the last 3 days.  My mindset is right where it needs to be again.  God is back in charge!  Praise the Lord!  He is working in mighty ways in our church.  Everyone needs to be part of this.  Join us.

I am always amazed at how God just keeps on working in my life and in our church.  There are times when my body is exhausted, and my spirits are down.  It seems like always God sends something my way that boosts my spirits and gives me some pep in my step.  Over the last few weeks our services have been really good.  I can feel the Holy Spirit strong.  I want to worship, and I want to go to church to get another dose.  It really is like a drug.  When God starts pouring out His Spirit upon a congregation you become addicted to that feeling.  I know there is more to being a Christian than goosebumps on my neck, but I also know we create an atmosphere where worship is conducive during a service.  I am ready to be filled up again!  Praise God!  God bless you all.

As we remember the terror that rocked our country 11 years agos today, I am reminded of the importance of the gospel.  None of us know when we will be removed from this earth.   We must be ready when it does happen.  One thing is for sure.  We will all go through the process of death unless God doesn't tarry.  As I was thinking about that today, I received an email from our state missions director giving us an update on a church planter we have been sponsoring in Africa.  During the time that we have been sponsoring him five people have come to accept Christ as their personal savior.  I rejoice because even though today is such a sad day when we think about 9/11 there are people out there preparing people for the afterlife.  May God continue to bless the works of our man over in Africa.

This past weekend Shilah and I were invited with some of our church family on a mini vacation.  I was very reluctant to go.  Since Sawyer has been around, I don't think Shilah and I have gone anywhere without at least one of the boys for more than one night.  I have so many responsibilities at school, home, and church, I feel like it is near impossible to break away.  Well, I went.  I still had many things on my mind.  Trent was covering the pulpit, and I knew he would do a good job.  I had a great time.  It was just what I needed.  Every weekend I am consumed with Sunday morning service that I usually don't have time for other things.  Since pastors rarely get to sit and feast in a service, I had to go somewhere Sunday morning.  We decided to visit Poteau First Assembly of God.  It was a great service, and I walked away ready to get back home and resume my duties as teacher, pastor, son, dad, and husband.  Thank you God for rejuvenation!

Well, everyone is back into the swing of things at school.  Honestly, right now, it seems like I didn't even have a summer break.  We have been blessed lately with a little rain and cooler temperatures.  I know it is probably gonna heat back up, but I am enjoying it while it lasts.  I am excited about everything going on right now at church.  Last Saturday, we took our little ones from church to The Splash in Sherman.  It was really fun!  I am not being sponsored by the city of Sherman, but I highly recommend taking your family there.  Tomorrow, some of our folks are gonna meet at the church and paint the fellowship hall.  This will definitely be a welcome change to the brown panneling that has been up for years.  Sunday the parents of the most famous bullrider ever will be here to talk to us about their son and our Father.  That should be awesome!  Next Saturday, we are have a game night with cards and boar games.  Remember guys, it is only for fun.  Kris Brown has been doing some great work helping move our church into the future, and Trent Daniel has been exciting those teens.  Man!  I am fired up!  Keep up the good work, Folsom.  God is gonna bless us for this.  I promise.  God bless.
